Now is the time to reset your home ready for the winter months and the beginning of autumn is the perfect time to do a detox The summer activities are over, and you will likely feel that sense of hibernation come over you, so make sure your home is in tip-top condition is essential. There are so many ways that you can do this and different areas that you can focus on.

Don’t forget when looking for cleaning products you can check out Dr. Beckmann’s product range to help spruce up your home. Without further ado, here are some of the areas that you should incorporate into your September detox.

Porch and hallway

The first area to focus some attention on might be a porch area and/or a hallway. This is a spot in your home that gets a lot of traffic, and likely houses a lot of the essentials you need to leave your home such as coats and shoes. Spend a bit of time reorganising it so that everything is accessible and has its place. Give any surface areas or skirting boards a quick clean and consider a plug-in air freshener to keep those areas smelling fresh.

Kitchen

Deep cleaning certain areas of your home won’t sound like fun, but at different points of the year, it can be useful. This is the perfect time to look in your cupboards, declutter any out-of-date cans and spices and give everywhere a thorough clean. It is an ideal chance to clean the work surfaces and even get out appliances you might want to use in the winter such as a slow cooker or crockpot. Giving these a good clean if they haven’t been used for a few months can also be beneficial.

Bathroom

August was a focus on the toilet and getting rid of germs, but if that was all you managed to do then it could be a good idea to give your bathroom a deep clean. You might also want to declutter the cupboards and shelves to ensure that all products are organised and easily accessible.

Garden

The garden gets a lot of us in the summer months, and then doesn’t get much action in the winter, so it is a good idea to pack everything away ready for the colder months ahead. You could put away cushions and covers, clear the flowerbed and trim any bushes and grass ready for the winter months.

Your wardrobe

As the season change is upon us, now is the ideal time to get back in your wardrobe and make the switch between summer and winter clothing. Leave a few transitional pieces as the weather can be unpredictable this month, but use this time to get organised. If you haven’t worn that summer dress this time it could be the perfect opportunity to donate or sell. Clearing your wardrobe regularly helps you to keep on top of things and also avoids overspending when buying new items.

Sheds and garages

Finally, you could also look inside your sheds and garages to ensure they are still organised and ready for the winter months ahead. You might need to be able to access different things that have been put to one side in the coming months. So reorganising everything could prove useful. Give them a clean as well as this might be the last time you spend too much attention on them. Having access to what you need will make things easier.

Hopefully, this will be just what you need to reset and detox ready for autumn and winter in your home.
