A Few Favourite Things – Yeah Lifestyle

Sharing is caring!

Welcome back to my A Few Favourite Things series.  This week I have Asha from Yeah Lifestyle showcasing her favourite things.  Whether you are looking for things to do in the North West, reviews on family products or beautiful lifestyle pieces Asha has it all for you.

A Few Favourite Things – Yeah Lifestyle

Hello, My name is Asha Carlos and I am the main Blogger at Yeah Lifestyle, a lifestyle blog covering Manchester, Cheshire and Staffordshire areas.  We tend to do lots of reviews on the site, of kid’s friendly places, beauty products, fashion as well as book reviews too.  I am also a mum to two lovely beautiful kids aged 4 and 7 years old who love posing for my photos. My husband and my kids also follow me when I do reviews as their feedback and reaction are important for me to document especially when I review family-related events, holiday destinations and family-friendly restaurants. Otherwise, I usually head with a plus one to launches/restaurant reviews and events.

When I am not blogging (which is never…I am a Lifestyle, Wedding and Portrait Photographer taking family portraits or weddings. I find photography allows me to express myself and be creative. I also love seeing the expressions on my client’s faces when they see the final photos. Their joy is my joy. I also love writing and freelance for magazines whenever I can. That’s how Yeah Lifestyle was born, it was a combination of my love for photography and writing into one portal.

I am really lucky and blessed that I am able to do what I love most as my job….capturing beautiful moments in time, documenting it and sharing it with everyone. I have received so much great news from friends and just readers that they enjoy reading the posts and have visited the place we featured or tried a product. This brings me great joy as that was the point of the blog in the first place, to create awareness.

Favourite room in your home

My most favourite place in my house is my bedroom (at the moment, as this changes).  It is my zen space, for me to relax or unwind just before I sleep.  Sometimes I catch up on some reading here or watch catch-up TV since I often have a busy day.

Favourite trend

Well, you could say I love to follow trends or try to imitate closely especially when it comes to clothes.  As for my home, in an ideal world… I would love my home to portray a Scandi feel which is clean and minimal.  We are slowly making our home to be more modern looking but at the moment, there is still a lot of antique furniture in the house (and this seems to be coming back into style) so it’s a mix at the moment.

Favourite thing you own

The favourite thing I own at the moment is my Android smartphone which was given to me as a present for my birthday recently. I have had this for just over 4 months and love it to bits as I can do almost anything with it from taking photos of my kids, updating my blog to checking my emails whether I am at home or on the go. It also doubles up at my GPS, to stop me from getting lost when I am visiting London or when I am driving to see a client.

Favourite colour

I love the colour red. Some people say that it can be too strong or if you have too much red in the room it could cause people to feel angry. But it does not affect me.  I have the colour red tastefully designed in different things in our home. Such as our curtains have red, a lot of my accessories are red, cushions, kitchenware items, cups, throws, etc.

Favourite season

My favourite season just has to be Autumn mainly because of the changing colours of the trees and as a photographer, I love capturing beautiful photos with the autumnal colours in my background. As for decorations, I try to be as seasonal as I can without breaking the bank. Again autumnal colours with different red tones are my favourite.

Favourite thing about where you live

We live on the border between Staffordshire and Cheshire hence it is very picturesque where we live.  There are lots of parks, horse riding schools as well as national trust places to visit which is great for the kids if they want to head out for a walk.  Because our family network is quite large and everyone has moved away, we have family living in England, Scotland, Europe and Asia…as they say distance just makes the heart fonder and we are all close-knit.
