Favourite room in your home
I have to include two places because I just can’t choose! First I love the chairs in my sitting room. It’s my favourite place to sit, especially when the stove is on and the room is lovely and cosy. It’s where I sit to post to social media and where I sit to read. I love this place because it’s comfortable, not stylish. My favourite place in the house in terms of the look is the foyer. I love the colours and the picture of NYC makes me smile every time I pass by.
Our house is traditional. We have neutral colours on the walls and around the house. Our kitchen is cream and we have a stone open fire and stone surround that separates the kitchen and dining room.
Favourite thing you own
I love so many things in my house it’s hard to pick. I just display things I really love, most of our items have sentimental value to them. I’ll show you my birds. It’s two birds done in glass, they are attached together and they make me happy to look at them. They sit on the mantle piece in our sitting room.
Picking a colour would be tough. In terms of decorating I love neutrals, I never get tired of them! Our kitchen is a good example of neutrals and then the black stove really pops.
I love spring and summer when flowers are blooming. The front of our house redecorates itself. We have bushes and flowers along the front and back of our house. It changes the whole look of the place when they are in bloom. I cut some of the big white daisies and put them in a vase in the kitchen window.
Favourite thing about where you live
I grew up in New York and now live in the West of Ireland in County Mayo. We are along the coast. It’s a stunning place to live with rolling hills and cliffs along the sea. In the summer we are a short drive from the beach. We live near my husband’s family which is wonderful.
