We all work so hard for our homes. Whether we own it or rent it, we do our best to present our homes in the best possible light. A lot of that is in the interior look and decoration, and sometimes, this can be the hardest element to get right. We want our homes to be an extension of our personalities, but at the same time, we also want people to love it. So here are some of the ways you can give your home the wow factor.

Add an extension

Often the living space when we first move into our homes might not work out for you, and so you could be considering an extension to make the space more suitable for you and your family. An extension can be a great addition to your home and can certainly give it the wow factor, especially if you consider things like aluminium roof lanterns, new flooring and perhaps even add on other projects like a new kitchen or decoration.

Create a feature wall

Sometimes you just want a room to be eye-catching, and adding a feature wall can be a great way to do that. There are so many ways that you can do it. You could use a contrasting colour and simply paint a wall to be a feature. Or you could use wallpaper to add some texture or a pattern to make it look different. Lastly, some people get really creative and consider using pictures or their favourite prints to create a personal montage.

Declutter your home

Cutter can make a home appear untidy and messy, even if it is really isn’t. So it might be time to go on a decluttering mission to help give your home the wow factor it deserves. It can be hard to tackle the clutter at first, so you can challenge yourself with just five minutes of decluttering a day or task yourself to find a certain amount of items to declutter. You could donate them to charity or even sell them online.

Add unusual furniture

If you really want the wow factor in your home, then you need some items within it that are real talking points. Your furniture can do this for you. It could be an unusual coffee table, an upcycled piece that is a little different or something that you have done yourself, or even an item that you picked up in your local charity or thrift shop. Be usual with your choices, and while you still need some pieces to be practical, you also want them to look stylish.

The Instagram home

Finally, the big trend right now is to have the Instagram home. The home with the perfect shelves with just the right amount of trinkets on display. The copper, the grey, the perfectly styled. This is always something to work towards but remember that your home still needs to be lived in and enjoyed. What Instagram trend do you like?

Let’s hope that these suggestions enable you to give your home the wow factor
