Winter Warmers

19th February 2018

Sharing is caring!

There are some things in life you cannot change.  The British weather is one of them.  What you can do is hut the world and the weather away by drawing the curtains and hiding indoors.  Forgetting the cold bitter winds, driving rain and icy snaps.

It’s time to come indoors throw in some winter warmers and cosy up on the sofa with a good book or a film.  Not forgetting a delicious cup of hot chocolate which is well known for it’s warming properties after braving the winter weather.

Loungewear

With many people proclaiming that they don’t wear pyjamas to bed, they don’t want to be in their clothes from dawn to dusk either.  This is where loungewear comes in.  That happy medium between pyjamas and casual clothing.  Still acceptable to open the front door to the postman but not quite what you’d wear to the shops.  A comfortable and warmer pair of trousers with an oversized top that is great for layering underneath if the weather is particularly bad.

Dressing Gown

Gone are the days when dressing gowns were an old person’s thing.  Nowadays it is one of the first things we pop on as we stay in a hotel or attend a spa day – so why not do this at home.  Take the chill off and warm up whilst cosying up to a dressing gown.  Perfect for when the heating hasn’t quite kicked in first thing in the morning, as you get ready for an evening on the sofa enjoying a book.

Footwear

Ensuring that you have socks on your feet at the very least will help you feel warmer.  Especially when walking around the house a good pair of slippers are perfect for giving both warmth and comfort to your tired feet.

Home Accessories

Whilst you might not want to don your loungewear or pyjamas just in case someone knocks on the door.  You can still ensure that you are feeling warm against the weather outside with some home accessories.  Adding a collection of cosy cushions to your sofa ensures that you are not only comfortable when you sit down but have something to snuggle into as well.  Adding a throw or snuggly blanket to the back of your sofa will make the room feel cosier, as well as the practical value of being able to have a blanket on hand for when there is a nib in the air.
