Stuck on what to do with your children, we’ve compiled a list of fun activities that you can do with your children. Whether it’s the summer months, or winter months, some of these activities will work for both, or for particular times of the year.

When it comes to fun activities to do with your children, the list can be vast, from creating your own stickers and doing some crafts, or creating a den indoors, to having a picnic or going on a scavenger hunt outside. Keep reading for some inspiration.

Creating a den inside

If you think back to when you were a child, chances are you enjoyed making dens every once in a while. Get all your blankets out, your duvets, pillows and duvet sheets and go wild, creating the best den’s. Be creative and see who can make the best one. Creating a den is also a great way to save money, instead of spending money going out.

Picnic

Picnics are affordable, easy to do and you get to spend some quality time together in the sun. Whether you do a picnic in your back garden, the beach or opt to go to the park, all will mean the hours whirl down and you get to enjoy some delicious snacks together.

Scavenger Hunt

Another activity a lot of us will have done in the past is a scavenger hunt. Spend the evening before hiding things around the house and in your garden, ready for your children to find. Make it a competition and time them to see how quick they can finish. The prize can be anything from them choosing the takeaway of their choice to something they have been after for a while.

Painting

Another way to get active and be creative is to do some painting together. Find a picture of your favourite landscape or memory together and have fun trying to recreate it through paint. Once finished, you can frame their work and hang it on the wall for them to be proud of. If you visit your local DIY shop, you will find many different paints that you can buy. Why not look on Pinterest for some inspiration if you are stuck on something to paint.

Walk along the seafront

If you live near the seafront or need to drive to get to one, both will bring a lot of joy and fun. A seafront gives the chance for your children to run around, enjoy seeing the crystal clear waters as well as throw stones and breathe in the fresh air. It’s also a very affordable activity that you can do – the only expense will be buying the ice creams to enjoy on your walk.

What fun activities do you like to do with your children? Have you tried any of the above activities in our guide? Are there any activities that we haven’t included in our guide that you think we should add.
