Spring is in the air, and that means the weather is starting to warm up. Hurrah! Spring brings with it brighter days and the sudden urge to deep clean your home. After all, a clean and tidy home can help reinforce a sense of positivity. A deep clean doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task, and once you start you might find you won’t be able to stop.

Susan Fermor, a Dr. Beckmann spokesperson says that “Getting your homes straight can be a mammoth task, so following the 12-month cleaning calendar will help people plan and organise their cleaning schedule month by month, ensuring your humble abode stays spick and span all year round” and now that we have entered Spring it is time to think about the deep clean.

Check out Dr. Beckmann’s product range to help spruce up your homes in 2022 here: Dr. Beckmann. But for now, I wanted to share with you a couple of areas of your home that may have been a little neglected and are the perfect place to start your deep clean.

The kitchen cupboards. Inside, outside and even on top

One of the first areas of your home you might want to focus on is the kitchen. When was the last time you gave your kitchen cupboard a clean on the inside, the cupboard doors, but more importantly along the top? If your cupboard doesn’t sit flush with your ceiling then you may use the tops o your kitchen cupboards for extra storage. But there will certainly be hidden dust up there so this could be a great area to start with.

Your wardrobes

Decluttering your wardrobe can feel like a mission, but spring is the ideal time to get inside your wardrobe, pull all of the clothes out, and give any rails, doors, and shelves a good clean. Then organise your clothing and work through the things you no longer want or need. Donate to charity or sell online if there is still some life left in those clothing items. This is one of the jobs that can really cleanse your mind and rejuvenate your style as you are reminded of lost items. Not to mention a new season to dress for.

The bathroom cabinets and vanity units

Much like your kitchen cupboards, you might find that the bathroom cabinets and the vanity unit won’t have been cleaned for some time. Empty them out and wipe down the shelves ad the doors. Again this is the ideal time to get rid of products and bathroom items you are no longer using and reorganise everything so that it is easy to see and find.

Your windows

We tend to neglect our windows during the winter months. With the constant rain and bad weather, it seems pointless to clean them up. But as the spring arrives and the weather starts to change, you might start to notice how dirty they have gotten. So give them a clean on the inside and out. So when the sun shines through them you won’t be greeted with watermarks and dirt.

Ceiling fans and light fittings

Hidden dust can be everywhere in areas we don’t clean as often, and one area to find the dust is ceiling fans and light fittings. Especially on top of any light fittings that have a shade or metal detail. Giving them a dust and clean can get those ceiling fans and light fittings sparkling ready for spring.

Upholstery

Finally, some upholstery in your home might need a clean or put through the washing machine. For example, cushions and sofa covers. Get them washed and hang them out to dry on a sunny day. It can add instant freshness to your living spaces.

Hopefully, this has got you started with your deep clean this spring.
