If you find that you are struggling to get through each day, your morning routine might be the problem. Use these ideas to create healthy morning habits to create a more accomplished day. 

The first few hours of the day will set the tone for the rest of the day. It can determine if you are feeling stressed or happy, energetic or lazy and will help determine how much you get done each day. These small healthy habits will help you have a better morning and the rest of the day. 

Start the night before

Start planning the next day the night before. This will help you to be prepared for the next day. Check your planner to know what you have going on the next day and any appointments you might have. Plan what you are going to wear or if you need to pack a lunch. Also, make sure you are going to be at a reasonable time. While you might want to stay up and watch one more episode of your favourite tv show when you do not get rough sleep, your day is sure to start off sluggish and make you feel grumpy.

Wake Up at the Same Time Each Day

We all have an internal clock that works best when you stay on schedule. Even on weekends, it is best to wake up and go to sleep at the same time. Even if you have a late-night, try to wake up at the regular time the next day. By doing this you will stay more focused and have better sleep

Don’t Hit the Snooze Button

By hitting the snooze button, you are getting worse sleep and can actually cause you to have a bad day. It is also, not good for your health, according to the American Heart Association. The best thing to do is to set the alarm to the time you have to get up and get up. 

Put Down the Phone

When you get up in the morning, don’t reach for the phone. Skip checking emails, scrolling through social media and playing games until you have been out of bed for at least 30 minutes. These things will zap your energy and leave you feeling drained.

Eat Breakfast and Drink Water

Your body has shut down your metabolism overnight and by eating breakfast, you are setting it to on. Eat something with protein and something that is high in fibre. Drinking water is extremely important to do all day long, but it is important to start your day with water. 

Once you get your morning off to a good start, you will have better days.
