Sharing is caring!

Many of us, especially those of who live in cities, have small bathrooms in our homes. It can be frustrating and sometimes really annoying, but, with the right know-how,  you can make them stylish and practical. So, instead of spending hours on Pinterest, dreaming about the what the perfect bathroom could look like, I thought I would lay out some tips for you on how you can make the most of your small bathroom space.

Making the Most of Your Small Bathroom

Choose the right colour

This may seem like a pretty obvious thing to consider, but often it can be pushed to the back of one’s mind and pretty soon it becomes something you want to change but never get around to doing it. Actually, colour should be the first thing to keep in mind when dealing with a small bathroom space. Neutral colour schemes are good when selecting floor and wall colours, as they can make a bathroom look significantly larger by creating a feeling of spaciousness, rather than breaking up the room. This is where Pinterest can actually come in handy, especially when you are in the inspiration part of the process. Additionally, you can download augmented reality apps (Dulux do a good one) which will show you what the room will look like in different colours. Another good option when it comes to colour schemes is that of a feature wall, particularly when dealing with narrow spaces.

Get furniture shopping

Bathroom furniture is another key thing to bear in mind. It can provide essential storage spaces to ensure your bathroom remains clutter free. For example, it might be worth investing in a multi-purpose mirror unit. These provide more than just a practical tool to look into as they subtly add extra storage where you need it most. All those bottles and boxes get hidden, leaving the bathroom looking clean and uncluttered. Another key piece of furniture to consider is a vanity unit. They elegantly combine the essential plumbing components, with the bonus of additional storage for loose items. For space saving bathroom furniture pieces, check out iflo for a variety of multi-purpose furniture ranges.

Add your personal touch

Last but not least, don’t be afraid of adding your own signature to the bathroom through some tasteful decor. Artwork, photography, and sculptures will add extra intrigue to the potentially enclosed feel of a small bathroom. Plants also provide natural colour that can make a bathroom an inviting space. Artwork and greenery are great ways to make your bathroom feel larger than it is when used tactfully.

So there you go, some practical and easy tips to get you started. Have a look around on Pinterest for ideas, stock up on bathroom magazines and book an appointment at one of iflo’s bathroom showrooms, and you are ready to get going.

Great tips! We’ve got to redo our upstairs bathroom and it’s quite small so I’m not really sure what to do with it. I’m thinking about getting a bathroom designer in order to get a better idea what our options are X
