When it comes to places in the house that take on unwanted odours the only place worse than the bathroom is the rubbish bin. Bathrooms hold on to odours and can be nearly impossible to get rid of. With a little planning, you can do some amazing things to make your bathroom smell fresh again.

4 Ways to make your bathroom smell fresh

How to make your bathroom smell fresh again

Flooring

Solid floors can hold on to odours. Particularly the smell of urine that lands on them and works into the grout. A great way to deal with these odours is to cover the floor in shaving cream and allow it to sit for about 20 minutes. This foaming cream will work into the cracks and leave behind a fresh clean scent when you mop it back up. It is amazing for making your grout clean with a little scrubbing.

Bathroom fabrics

Bathroom rugs, shower curtains and other fabrics can hold on to stubborn odours that can be difficult to remove. If you can wash these fabrics watch with a cup of vinegar to help kill the odours. If you can not wash the service in a machine you can opt to spray the surface down with vinegar and allow it to dry. The vinegar smell will dissipate and take the unpleasant odours with it.

Clean your toilet regularly

The toilet can be a major source of odours. Regular cleaning can eliminate this problem. Using a cleaner that activates with each flush is a great way to make this job a bit easier giving you more time between quality scrubbings. To deal with germs and odours where the toilet seat connects to the toilet save time and remove the toilet seat to make cleaning under the connections and the hinges quickly and easily.

Bathroom drains

One place in the bathroom that can commonly take on an odour that can be difficult to find is the drains. Pour baking soda and vinegar down your drains to clean and deodorize them. This is a great way to help keep your drains working well while making your bathroom smell fresh.
